ONLINE Teacher Workshop: Training Hypermobile Pole Dancers
All Levels

This workshop is geared toward pole teachers, but pole students who are hypermobile are welcome to join.

Part 1 revealed way hypermobile bodies can work differently on and off the pole and provided sensory exercises to help students develop proprioception during warm ups.

This next 2 hour session will continue the lessons, tips, and techniques pole coaches can use to keep their hypermobile students safe during pole class.

Mændy Mac is a pole coach diagnosed with hEDS, and has been working with dancers of all types for almost 20 years. While pole dancers with hypermobility will have different needs, Mændy will share information she has learned from her own body and from working with bodies in the pole and aerial industry to help coaches understand these variances and ultimately assist hypermobile students on their pole journey.

Learn how hypermobile bodies can work differently, and apply techniques that focus on preventing hypermobile students from injuries in pole tricks that twist, bind, and bear weight.

The session will end with breathing exercises and tips to help hypermobile pole dancers be more mindful of their bodies, release tension, and calm the nervous system.

Pole attire is recommended for those willing to demonstrate the techniques described, but having a pole at home is not required.

By reserving your spot in class online, you acknowledge that you are attending at your own risk and understand that technology (internet issues, screen view, lighting, etc.) may stand in the way of receiving a full quality class. If the connection is lost during class, we will try our best to restore you back to class.

You acknowledge that you have inspected your home pole and fitness equipment to the best of your ability and declare it is safe for use during class, to the best of your knowledge. Your workout space is safe and clear and you have a crash mat to protect yourself from injury. You are attending class at a time when someone else is home, in case of emergency.

Online class passes, like all passes, cannot be refunded.

All online class participants receive a recording of the class and a discount code to purchase the Hypermobile Pole Dancer Recordings from our previous workshop with Physical Therapist, Dr. Cody Ibarra: https://poleinthewall.punchpass.com/passes/193507

This class is limited to 20 online. Be mindful that internet and connection issues may occur during your class. We will always do our best to ensure online students have a great experience, but some things can be out of our control.
